A technique based class to modern music involving warm-up exercises, travel combinations wearing tap shoes. Focus is on foot work and learning specific tap steps from a shuffle to a pick up, from a slap ball change to a wing.

Technique of learning Tap steps, Terminology, Rhythm and Coordination.
CLASSICAL BALLET
For the budding Ballerina!
A technique based class to classical music involving barre work, centre exercises, stretching, enchainment and allegro combinations. Classes offered from Level 1 to Advanced.
Students who have strong technique and ability will commence pointe work at the appropriate time for each individual with their teacher’s guidance.
Focus:
Technique of learning ballet steps and terminology, Posture, Alignment, Flexibility, Turning, Jumps, Coordination.
HIP HOP
For those wanting to dance like the video clips!
Learn the latest moves from the video clips to the latest music. A fun fast moving class involving warm-up, funky combinations and routines.
Focus:
Complex combinations, Coordination.
CONTEMPORARY
Great for VCE Dance and Ballet students!
Specific technique and style developing abstract movement technique and combinations.

Flexibility, Strength, Improvisation, Coordination.
ACROBATICS / STRETCH & STRENGTH
Learn new tricks!
An energetic and essential class for students to improve their flexibility and strength and to work on challenging flexibility, stretch & acrobatic tricks.
Focus:
Good for improving strength and flexibility.
THEATRICAL SONG & TAP / SONG & DANCE
Why not combine singing & dancing?
Focus:
Breathing techniques, warm-up exercises and scales, song and dance, solo, group work.

LYRICAL
What a Feeling!
Focus:
Quality and feeling through choreographed routines to modern lyrical music.

Units 1 – 4 (Open to Year 10 to Year 12 Students)
Focus:
A study of the theoretical and written components of Dance – including History of Dance, Anatomy, Physiology and Safe dance. Students will research work of great choreographers and analyse and report their findings. Practical work involves student choreography creating their own dance works for assessment. All studies take place at our VDA studios. Students are welcome to apply for a place for 2021.
